Look at us....

The boys enjoyed a great morning at Sharon Wood Park. Our mom's group meet there this morning to let the kids play. The boys had a blast....this is by far the nicest park we have been to yet!!! The best thing about these parks is that each park has "age appropriate" areas. So no matter what age your child is...there is a lot to do!!!

After a fun morning at the park...we came home to feed the geese. We loaded up our arms with bread - grabbed our bikes and headed to feed the geese at the ponds!!

Here is Carson heading to the ponds!!

The boys enjoyed throwing bread to the geese...I was a little nervous...the geese kept getting a little to close to them!!

Here is a quick video of the boys throwing the food...to funny!!

I just had to throw this picture in of Barrett...it is just tooooo cute!! Davy, Carson, and I were playing Clue Jr. while Barrett was playing by himself. I looked up and saw this.....

.....like I have said before...you never know with Barrett!! Gotta love him!!

Game Day...ALL DAY LONG!!!

The boys have really taken an interest in board games (all sorts) lately, and this morning Carson wanted to play one of my old school board games (Rdg./Lang. game that I used when I taught 3rd grade). They love it b/c it is a racing game...I really have to water the questions down, but Carson does well!! After playing that, we played Candy Land and Guess Who...I love these old games that were some of my favorites!!

Barrett beat us both in Guess Who and Candy Land...I didn't stand a chance in Candy Land. I always lost in that game too!!! This afternoon when they got up from their naps, they played this basketball game - they LOVED it!! They played for probably a good hour!

As you can see in the picture...Barrett has that tongue out again!!

Of course right now...everything is a race with the boys, so tonight's basketball game was no different!! They made me set a timer for a minute to see who could get the most baskets...and low and behold - Barrett won again!!!
Here is a video of the race...

We also played Clue Jr. (I like that game...much easier for me to understand)! After dinner, the whole family went outside and played baseball for a while. We finished up by taking a walk around the complex to visit all the geese at the four ponds. We had quality family time tonight. It was a lot of fun...and it was very nice to be able to spend some time together!!

My Kids......ya' gotta love them!! 8-11-08

We had a wonderful day!! The weather could not have been any better!! I bet it never got over 80 all day! The sun was out...NO HUMIDITY (so nice). The boys wanted to go to the pool today, so we waited around until about 12ish to go (it seemed a little cold to swim, but they didn't seem to think so). While the kids were playing inside this morning - I decided to rearrange the back patio (ya know since there is just soooo much room on our little patio). I pulled everything out...the boys and I swept the patio off, and I notice SPIDERS!!! I ran inside...grabbed the Krud Cutter (I know....but it was all I could find)...ran back outside and began to spray the grill cover the patio..and anywhere else I could see a spider. My sweet little 3 year old looked up at me and said, "Mommy, why are you spraying that everywhere out here?" I told him it was b/c I don't like spiders - and he said, "You know what God says about killing people - he is not happy now - you have really done it now!!!" He was very upset!! I explained the difference in bugs and people, and I think he was even more confused!! His little mind works overtime!!

We finished putting everything back on the patio...and don't you know...the guys came by and MOWED right by the patio!! And guess what is all over the patio AGAIN...GRASS!!!

We enjoyed a couple of hours at the pool today...the boys loved playing the COLD WATER...I decided I would watch from the side. There were a few other younger girls out there laying out, but my kids were the only ones in the pool. They love eating lunch at the pool, so I packed our lunch to enjoy a little picnic by the pool! Barrett said he needed my sunglasses to help get the sun out of his eyes....I put my sunglasses on this afternoon ---- finger prints and dried food all over them!! I love it!!

Well, as mentioned in previous posts...we are working on teaching the boys to pick-up whatever they get out. Today, Barrett wanted to bring the water basketball goal - I told him that would be fine, but he would need to carry it to and from the pool.

He said he would...and he did --- I love this picture:

We looked at several houses tonight with a great realtor, and the boys did pretty good with the first couple...by the last two, Barrett had become Best Friends with our realtor. He knows more about our realtor than we do -- Barrett kept asking him question after question!! The realtor didn't seem to mind - he just laughed at him!! I was to embarrassed to ask him for a picture with Barrett for my blog, so sorry - I don't have any with Barrett's latest friend!!

Good Ole Movie Night

After church tonight, we had movie night with the boys at the apartment. We usually do it at the club house in the theater, but we couldn't get it this past Thurs. (it was already booked...we now have it booked every Thurs. til like Jan...we love our family nights!), so we had it tonight at the apartment. The boys love to close all the blinds, turn off all the lights, and we eat popcorn with M&Ms in it!! Tonight, we watched the movie...and I was scared to death. My boys LOVED IT!! They are just like Davy...they could/would watch anything...they don't get scared!!

My First Motor Speedway Race...Indy Cars...Saturday, August 9, 2008

Today was an excellent day!! We all slept in...the boys didn't get up until 10:15am (we were up before they were!!). After we all got up and got moving, it was time to get ready to take the kids to their babysitter's house - and Davy and I were headed to the Kentucky Motor Speedway for an Indy Car Race. We dropped the kids off at Lexi's house (the babysitter) around 1:30...and we didn't even get out of the house and the boys were busy playing with Lexi's little brother -- they didn't even care that we were leaving!!! We arrived at the race - parked - and got into the stadium to take in all the pre-race events. We sat in Baker's Box for the race...my first time to ever sit in a Box!! The Indy race was amazing...Davy keeps telling me that Indy races don't touch Nascar, so I can't imagine what Nascar would be like. We had a great evening together...and the boys had a blast with their babysitter!!

Here is a slide show of various pictures from the race...and a couple of videos:

What a GREAT DAY!!

We had a blast today!! We meet up with one of Carson and Barrett's little friend - Ty - today, and enjoyed a great lunch at "The Cone"...then we went to the Park for a little while!! Barrett loves Ty...he can't ever seem to remember his name, so he just calls him "My Best Friend" when he is talking about him. They are too cute together!!

After Davy got home from work, we decided to go out and try and find Go-carts to ride. Well, the only place that we could find was at the Tri-State Mall. They have a place called "Kid City"...and the boys had a BLAST...we all did. We at dinner, rode go-carts, and rode many other "amusement type" rides...all inside this building. It is definitely something we will have to do again!! We were there for several hours and didn't realize it until it was almost 10:00pm.

While we were there...we drove the Nascar simulators...and the boys were in HEAVEN. We would all compete against each other...and you could see each other's car on your screen. Carson was WAY TO SERIOUS!!

They had the BIGGEST air hockey table I had every seen there. And MiMi..you know how much the boys love air hockey!! We all played together...and Barrett's tongue was hanging out the whole time. He cracked us up...he would come play with us for a minute...then just stop in the middle of the game and go play a different game!!! It never seemed to cross his mind that he was suppose to be playing against someone...he just decided that it was time for him to move on to the next game!!

This is a video of Davy and the boys riding a ride...they loved it!! Barrett laughed the entire time - I am so glad they love rides...just like me!!
