Sledding Southern Style

Today, we were literally SNOWED in. They issued a level 3 for all roads...which means you can't go out unless it is an emergency! So, Davy worked from home again today. After lunch, the boys took a short rest -- then we suited up and headed out! Davy went out a few minutes earlier to start shoveling the driveway so that we could get the 4 wheeler out.

Needless to say...he thinks we need to purchase a snow blower..and I agree!! The boys enjoyed helping him too! Barrett used a sand shovel to help his daddy -- bad thing is -- he kept losing it :(

I couldn't find Barrett for a minute while we were outside playing...I turned around and this is what I found::

After we had cleaned off the driveway, we got the 4-wheeler out and we had a ball sledding with the boys!! They loved it...and so did we! We think we are the only people in our neighborhood with a 4-wheeler..and they probably think we are "Red Necks" with our 4-wheeler pulling our sled, but we don't care. It was kindof funny, because people would come out and watch us...and wave to the kids!! Who knows...maybe we started something new in our new neighborhood!! Here are some pictures from sledding -- Southern Style

Here is a short video from sledding too:

Barrett has learned to Spell his name....with just a few extra letters!!

Barrett has been working SO HARD to learn to spell his name lately, and bless his heart -- he either adds WAY too many letters or leaves some letters out. He is getting better though, and you can't help but laugh at him, because it is just tooooo cute when he spells it!!

Who Knew Learning to Ride a Bike Was SO HARD....not us!!

Yesterday, the weather was sooo nice -- so we decided to play outside with the boys after Carson got out of school. We thought it would be a good day to work with Carson on learning to ride his bike. I worked with him a little, but I wasn't getting very far....so Davy took over. They practiced for a while...and Carson got better, but he is just SO afraid of falling down and hurting himself...that he wouldn't focus on balancing the bike. We will continue to work on this as the weather allows.

As most of you know...the boys had asked Santa for a "REAL" Dirt Bike like their daddy's, but Santa told them that they had to learn to ride their bikes without training wheels first. So, they are really working hard at learning how to do this...any suggestions?

Don't you just love Barrett's bike helmet? It is Davy's old Dirt Bike helmet..it is almost as big as he is! He looked like a bobble head out riding his bike!!

Barrett's Playdate with Drew..

Thursday after pre-school, Barrett's best friend, Drew, came over to play. They were GREAT!!! I really didn't see them that much...other than when they would run from the play room upstairs to the play room in the basement. Drew and Barrett play so well together at school, and they did great the whole afternoon. They played dress-up, Star Wars, and enjoyed playing the Wii and XBOX. Here are some pictures from various outfits they dressed up in....

Barrett and Drew...Best Buds...

They had a ball dressing up as Dirt Bike Riders, Football Players, and Baseball Players. I would have them stop for a picture on they way going up or down stairs...

This picture was my favorite...I would walk up stairs to check on them, and they were just playing so well together. In this picture...they were playing football on the Playstation. It was SO FUNNY...They were really playing the game!!!

I would like for you to meet the next American Idol Winner.....Barrett Moore

Well, as you know, I come from a large family of singers...and it looks like my two boys are following in those footsteps! Saturday, we were on our way to Costco...and Barrett (out of NO WHERE) starts singing Here I am to Worship....and bless his heart...he kept singing the same thing over, and over, and over!! I finally got my camera out and recorded what I could (you can also hear Carson a little). Barrett and Carson LOVE to sing...I can't say that is is always in tune, or the right words...but it is music to my ears (well, most of the time).

Here is a short video...

Our blinds are getting hung TODAY!!!! YAY!!!!

Well, by this time tomorrow...I will be able to open my blinds on my windows!! Who would have thought I would get excited about something like that....but we have been living here with NO blinds for a MONTH!!! Yes, you read it right...a month!! Lowe's doesn't get in a real big hurry. They arrived last Monday, but the guy couldn't come put them up until today!! And I love how they say, "We will be there between 9:30-10:30."...whatever - it will prob. be noon! I am o.k. with that...as long as I get blinds up!! I will also take some pictures to post now...I just couldn't post pictures of our new house with sheets all over the windows!! This picture is in our breakfast room...suppose to be a hearth room, but we don't have furniture for a hearth room -- so we put our table there!!!

Carson's Day at Starbucks...

Carson's School was on a 2 hour delay on Thursday...and of course Barrett's wasn't, so I spent a majority of my morning being a taxi!! But, Carson and I enjoyed a great morning together!!! Carson (like his mother) LOVES Starbucks (I know...he shouldn't be drinking that stuff), so we enjoyed a White Choc. Mocha!! He thinks he is sooo big because he drinks coffee...not all the time...just special times!!! I love this picture...he really thought he was pretty big!!

The Boys and The Snow

Today, we (the boys and I) enjoyed playing in the snow for about an hour or so!!! I picked up Carson from school, and we came home -- bundled up -- and headed outside!!! This was Carson's first time to play in the snow....and he LOVED IT!! We all did!! When we came in, I had them jump in the hot shower to warm up...their little hands and bottoms were sooo red and cold!! I will have to invest in nicer gloves and outer clothing for them to play in the snow!! Here are some pictures from our fun afternoon in the snow!!

Barrett LOVED playing in the Snow today!

Today, we woke up to several (well..maybe 3) inches of snow! Carson was on a 2 hour delay, so he didn't go to school until 11:00. After we dropped him off, Barrett and I set off to find a snow shovel and a sled. After we got home...we hit the snow!! We don't have any hills at our house, so I had to pull him around on the sleds...but he LOVED playing in the snow!!

Let It Snow...Let It Snow...Let It Snow....

This is exactly what it did ALL day yesterday!! It was great!! I will admit...I am tired of gray days, but the snow if sooo pretty!! In TN...we would have closed schools at the sign of snow...not here!! They had school ALL DAY! Well, on Wed. they get out an hour early so that the teachers can have professional development time (every Wed. -- I thought that was pretty neat). I got up this morning....raced down stairs to see if school was canceled.....no such luck (I think I am still as bad as I was when I taught school). They are on a 2-hour delay...so Carson will go at 11:00 today. Barrett's pre-school was canceled on Tues. for snow, but not today!!! I am not real sure if he will go or if I will just keep him home. That is a lot of driving for just a short time (especially when I have to have Carson at school no later than 11). Looks like we will just be hanging out at home today!!!

Here are some pictures (taken from inside) of the snow at our house!!!

This is for you...MiMi!!

Tonight, as we were getting ready to go to Barrett's soccer practice...Barrett looked at me and said, "Mom, will you blogger me playin soccer for MiMi?" I didn't understand what he was talking about, so he then explained (after 10 mins) that he wanted me to take some pictures of him at soccer to blog for MiMi. I don't know if MiMi told him to or what, but here are some cute pictures from tonight along with some FUNNY videos!! I tell ya...Barrett is ONE of A KIND!! There will never be another!!!

Here are some pictures from tonight!!!

This video is a drill that they do to get them running...Barrett loves this because he loves to "smoke them"! And tonight...he told the little girl he keeps passing -- that he "smoked her"! I could have DIED!!!

Carson's First Day at Bowman Primary School

Well, I will have to say...today had to have been the BEST day for Carson since school has started! He did GREAT! We (Davy and myself) were not real sure how today would go...due to the fact that the beginning of this school year was terrible. Carson got up this morning with a big SMILE on his face ready (that is a first) to go to school! I think a lot has to do with the fact that his little friend from church goes to this school....and he is in his room!

We all (Davy was able to go too) took him to school this morning! We walked him in...and met his teacher (which she is just GREAT...we love her already). She had spoken with the students before school was out about Carson starting after Christmas. He had so many kids coming up to him..and helping him with everything this morning. His teacher (Mrs. Griffiths) took the time to get to know Carson and us -- she didn't seem to rush us at all -- which was wonderful! When we left...Carson (with a big SMILE) waved bye! He didn't have this look of death on his face like he did at the beginning of school back in August. His classroom reminds me of how the classrooms were in TN...which I think helped him a lot! I think there are maybe 22 kids in his room - were at MECC there were 47 kids (team teachers at MECC).

Barrett and I went to pick him up this afternoon....and Carson was just beaming from ear to ear. He said he had a great day...and couldn't wait to go back tomorrow! This is a BIG answered pray for Davy and myself!! We are looking forward to a GREAT rest of the year! He loved Mrs. Lovett and Mrs. Culp, but I think the school was just a little to big for him. I think his new school is going to be JUST perfect!!

Oh yeah...forgot to mention this...his teacher "loops" - so he will have her next year too. The same group of kids for 2nd grade!! Thanks for all the many prayers this morning...it really meant a lot to us all!!

Here are some pictures from this morning!!

A Day at the Sharon Woods Indoor Park...what a BLAST!!

One of the great things about living up North...I have learned...is that they have the BEST parks EVER!! But, they also have indoor parks...I guess to help us (moms) during the cold months to get the kids' energy worn off!! Anyway, we met our friends Robyn and Ty there today. We also picked up Maddie and Mason on the way. They had a BALL!!

Here is the group standing in front of the tree that carries them up to the slides...

The kids loved running around...sliding down the slides...playing in all the cool little areas -- they didn't want to leave!

After we finished playing inside, we enjoyed a picnic outside..then the kids enjoyed playing on the play ground outside for a little while....I tell ya what...they have a boring life - don't they!!!
