Day 1 in North Carolina

We arrived at the Johnson's house around 11am this morning, and they had a fun filled day planned for us!! We usually try and get together with them 2-3 times a year. Davy and Van enjoy riding dirt bikes together....and Holly and I enjoy great conversations and watching the kiddos play together. This year makes 5 years that we have been able to meet-up with each other. It is fun to be able to look at pictures of the kids throughout the years (I wish I was home to find the old pictures to put with the new ones).

Here are our pictures from our first day...we are hitting the BEACH (Atlantic Beach) tomorrow...yippy!! Those who know me -- know that I will have my "beach pictures" done first!!!

Enjoy:
When we walked into their house...this is what was waiting on me...b/c today is MY birthday!!!

We enjoyed a great lunch at Zaxby's...we really miss Zaxby's -- we don't have one in Cincy.

After lunch, we took the kids bowling. My boys LOVE to bowl -- so the adults and the kids played too!!! After the kids played...they then rode a roller coaster inside the bowling center!! This place was very clean and very nice!! We all had a blast!!

After bowling we were able to go to one of Morgan's softball games...then back home for a GREAT dinner!! The kiddos ate very well...we told them we would take them to Cold Stone (an ice-cream shop)if they ate all their dinner. We didn't have any problems!!

And last...but not least....we went to Cold Stone for ice-cream. It is the BEST!!! Barrett and I shared one...and Carson and Davy shared one. We had a great night and the kids were soooo tired!! We came in and put them all to bed!!

Awww...as I finish this last part -- I am racing to the bed. We have another big day planned while here in the big NC!!

Our first night on vacation....the boys were sooo excited!!

Yesterday afternoon we headed out for North Carolina to visit our friends. We didn't get to leave until 5:30 that afternoon because Davy had a meeting at 3pm. When he got home...we loaded the car and headed out!! We made it to Virginia and the fog was TERRIBLE, so we decided to stop and stay at a hotel for the night (Davy had some work he had to get done that night anyway). The boys take after their mom...they LOVE staying in hotels!!! We all enjoyed a great night sleep and a wonderful breakfast before we hit the road again!!

Our Sweet Little Gracie...The Thief

As most of you know, we have a sweet little puppy - Gracie. She is the closest I will come to a little girl in my male dominant family. Well, she has her own little personality...we are finding out. She is a little THIEF!! Seriously, she likes to take our stuff and hide (well what she thinks is hiding). Tonight, was sooo cute - I felt the need to blog about it. I had an extra box..so, I decided to put her toys in it. Well, Gracie (I guess) thought it was her "home" and her little "hide away" spot. She is just toooo cute...and the she loves the boys (Barrett is her favorite...and those who know how it was when she was little bitty puppy with him - yikes).

Hope you enjoy!!

Here you notice that she is in her toy box....

Now, she is trying to take my shoe (the first one)...

Ten minutes later...this is what I find!!!!

A Summer Night at the Ice-Cream Stand

Tonight, we decided that we would take the kids to get ice-cream after dinner. Well, our trip of just the family turned into a trip with 5 Kiddos. Carson and Barrett wanted some of the neighborhood friends to join them...and we didn't care...so we just took them all! We had a blast!!

The funniest part was driving home...Davy looked at me and said, "I can't hear myself think!" (the kids were singing REALLY LOUD) -- I replied, "I remember doing this to my parents! I enjoyed ever minute of it too!!!

Barrett Riding His Bike Video

I apologize in advance for talking during the recording!! Here is Barrett riding his bike:

Barrett Learned to Ride his Bike without TRAINING WHEELS!!!

I am happy to report that my 4year old can ride his bike without training wheels!! I was SHOCKED!! Last night he saw a friend of his learning to ride his bike without training wheels...and he went NUTS wanting his off too. So, Davy took his off (thinking that he would be putting them right back on)and after only ONE TIME pushing off...Barrett took off down the road. We were all soooo excited. As most of you know...Carson was 7 years old before he started doing this...so to see Barrett riding without training wheels...really blew our minds!!! Barrett is a very determined little guy, so I look for him to do a lot of things before his "normal" age group!! We are LOVING our neighborhood friends. It is soooo much fun visiting with everyone outside and watching the kids play together!! We have been spending a lot of time at our pool too. I will have to take some pictures there too!! I promise to do better with blogging everyday (I hope).

Here are some pictures of Barrett riding his bike. I hope to have a video up soon!!
