While we were in TN, we also celebrated my Grandma Ouida's 90th Birthday!! We had a great time visiting with her, my Aunt Tina, and my cousin Betsy...and of course my family. My Grandma is in PERFECT shape to be 90 years old.

Carson's 7th Birthday Party with the Family

It is hard to believe that my sweet baby Carson will be 7 March the 13th...where has the time gone? He has really grown up over the past few months!! While we were back in TN...we decided to celebrate Carson's 7th birthday party with our family. We had a great time too!! Everyone came to mom and dad's house for some great stir fry (thanks dad..and mom), cupcakes, and gifts. Carson was sooooo excited to celebrate his birthday with the family!! We had a great time visiting with everyone, and Carson THANKS everyone for his $$$$ and toys. With his money, Carson got some clothes for this spring and summer (thanks Mom for finding all these great clothes).

We are sooo blessed to have a great family...and we love being able to see everyone when we come back to visit!! A special thanks goes out to Aunt Connie and Aunt Jean for hauling Grandmamma and Grandaddy to Henderson for this special day. That really meant a lot to all of us!! We love you all!!

Ohio is JUST TOOOO MUCH TROUBLE

I will have to say...that I had my week ALL planned out (while Barrett was in Ark.). I was going to accomplish sooo many things. Well, so far, no such luck. We have yet to get Ohio tags and driver's lic. -- so that was first on my list. Second, is to get my teaching lic. changed over to Ohio. And third, would be to get the boys signed up for soccer. And last...but not least...complete our taxes.

Well, today I didn't accomplish much at all -- other than driving all over the world trying to get tags and license. I have NEVER seen anything like it! The people at the crazy DMV are the RUDEST people I have ever met. They don't help you out at all...and then they act like you are stupid for asking question..and those of you who know me well...know that I ask A LOT of questions. Needless to say, it will be next week before we get tags, because they have to send off all the crazy paperwork to get Ohio titles on our vehicles...then we BOTH will have to go BACK up there TOGETHER (can you tell I am a little frustrated?) to get our tags. I have to get them all kinds of information for this. FRUSTRATED is an understatement for how I felt.

After I realized that we wouldn't be getting tags today...I moved on to trying to get my driver's license. Who knew that this would bring on more headaches. The state of Ohio requires new residents to take the written test to get a driver's license. And you know how I feel about tests...I HATE THEM!! Well, Davy talked me into just going up there and just trying...so, I did!! And I PASSED IT on my first try. It was HARD to me...I don't have a lot of common driving sense. I was a nervous wreck. And of course they are just so friendly (NOT) up there!! I got finished with that, and they sent me to the building next door (they don't seem to understand how to make it simple around here..you have to go back and forth between building to get anything done). Well, I was super excited that I pasted my test...and I walked next door to only find out that the system was down state wide -- so they couldn't do driver's license. I WAS SOOO MAD!! I found this out after waiting 20 minutes!! Uurrgghhh!!

If you think this is BAD....triple this mess and you might come a little closer to what it is like to try and get your teaching license up here!! It is just crazy. Good thing about all of this....I didn't have to wag Barrett all over the world. I miss my sweet baby boy, but I am sooo glad that he isn't having to go through all this mess with me.

Davy came home tonight and decided to start on our taxes. We have never had to file state and city taxes before...so, he knew that it might be a little hairy!! Well, let's just say...he worked on them for a couple of hours, and decided he would look at them at a later date!! It is just CRAZY in the state of Ohio!!

But, this too shall pass -- I'm sure. Things could be a lot worse...we are healthy, happy, and that should be enough for us!!! I think I need to ask for a little more patience...what do you think?

Carson's Valentine's Day Party

Carson had his party on Friday, and they had a blast!! They got to decorate their own cupcakes, and they made their own Bingo boards. They turned out really neat!! After they played bingo...they got to pass out their valentine's cards. Carson is doing soooo well at Bowman. He loves his teacher, his friends, and most of all....he loves going to school now!! In fact...I was going to check him out after his party, but he didn't want to leave....that speaks MILES for him!!

Barrett's Valentine's Day Party at Pre-school

Today, Barrett had his Valentine's Day Party. Shirley was able to go with me to be a part of Barrett's party. He enjoyed having his Granna at the party to help with his crafts! They had some really neat crafts and snacks for the party. This was my first time to just be a mom at the party and not have to plan the party...it was nice!!!

Lunch with Carson

Bowman Primary didn't know what to expect when ALL of us came in to eat lunch with Carson. Carson wanted Granna and Granddaddy to come eat lunch with him one day while they were in town, so Davy, Barrett, and I thought we would join them too! We had a blast...and Carson was on cloud nine!! He thought he was pretty big stuff to have all of us at school with him. On a funny note...you know my week has not been very lucky...some how Barrett thought we were leaving (I think he saw the class line up and Davy throwing away the trash)so, he decided to leave himself. Well, once he walked out of the lunch room (into like a foyer area..inside the building) he realized that he was alone and freaked out crying! During that time...we were panicking trying to find him! We thought that maybe he had gone to line up with Carson's class. A secretary found him and brought him back to the lunchroom (it is just on the other side of the door). I just decided to add that to my week full of mis-haps...they seem to be adding up this week!! Here are some cute pictures from our lunch date with Carson!

What a day Monday was!!

Uuurrgghh...where do I begin describing my Monday!! I should have gotten back in the bed yesterday and started over..oh well...time for another day. I will recap just a few of my mishaps yesterday! To begin the day...I messed up the checkbook ROYALLY, so I spent several hours battling with a crazy checkbook. My in-laws are in town this week, so I wanted to cook good meals each night. I had prepped the ribs (yes, I was cooking ribs) and put them in the crockpot so that they would be ready for dinner when we got home...well, come to find out...I didn't plug the crockpot in!!! Then comes the potatoes...well, I didn't have any aluminum foil, so I just put them in the oven -- what happened you might ask --- they looked like raisins when they came out!! So, everyone got a big laugh out of my mess of dinner. Those were just a few of the many many bad things that day, but on a GREAT note...David put in some new light covers in the house and a new fan in my living room!! When we bought the house...they had put in terrible light fixtures, so while Davy's dad was here...he has been fixing those for us!!

Here are are few pictures of the new lights...and of course where was Barrett....RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE!!

Volunteering at Bowman

Yesterday, Barrett and I volunteered at Carson's school. A group called COSI (a science group) came in and set up various booths for the kids to travel through. I worked yesterday afternoon. Carson's group came through about 3:00...and he took Barrett "under his wing" and they enjoyed visiting all the various booths. Here are a couple of pictures of the boys from yesterday. I didn't get to take many because I was tied up working at my booth.

My Long Trip back home from Nashville Tuesday.....

As most of you know, I went to Nashville on Monday morning to be Ginger during the divorce settlement mess. I spent the night with her on Monday night, and headed back Tuesday morning...in PLENTY of time to get back to pick up Carson. Well, I was making excellent time...and I hit the Cincy side of Louisville and the bottom fell out (it wasn't rain but SNOW). The closer I got to Cincy...the harder it snowed. By the time I got home...I was in TEARS and STRESSED to the MAX. My car was all over the roads...and I could barely make it up some hill.

Here are some pictures from my wonderful and peaceful drive home!!
